We, in Shutan Nurseries, realize that your orchard is your source of income. Therefore, we are doing our utmost to ensure that your orchards yield large and high quality crops. To this end, Shutan Nurseries applies an array of quality control measures to all of the work processes, from the purchasing of plant propagating materials, through the different production stages to the transportation of the seedlings to the customer, while meeting his needs by providing him with professional consultancy services.

Shutan Nurseries advises its customers regarding the compatibility of rootstock types to the climatic conditions of different geographical regions, and continues to provide consultancy services for several years following the planting, in order to produce seedlings of even better quality.

Shutan Nurseries purchases only virus-free materials, which are certified and supervised by the Plant Protection & Inspection Services of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Shutan Nurseries performs sterilization of the soil and planting beds, in order to prevent contamination. Shutan Nurseries conducts tests of the leaves and seedlings to make sure they are disease- and virus-free.

Shutan Nurseries is a member of the Israeli Nursery-Owners Association and operates under the license and supervision of the Plant Protection & Inspection Services of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In addition, Shutan Nurseries is certified by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Institute for Agriculture According to the Torah of the Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Center.

Shutan Nurseries grows and markets all seedlings in compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 and EurepGap 2000 international standards. Shutan Nurseries was founded in 1978 in Moshav Yad Natan in the Lakhish Region by Shlomo Shutan. Today, the nurseries are owned by Rafi Shutan, who represents a second generation of planters, and is an expert in planting and orchard growing.

Shutan Nurseries sprawls over more than 70 hectares and includes fruit tree and grapevine seedlings and a selection of plant species and rootstocks. The seedlings are produced both in open field nurseries and in grow bags. The seedlings are between the ages of one and two years, and are marketed both in Israel and abroad.
