Shutan Nurseries was founded by Shlomo Shutan in 1978 in Israel. The nurseries are located in Moshav Yad Natan in the Lakhish region. Today the nurseries are owned by Rafi Shutan, who represents the second generation of planters, and is an expert in planting and orchard growing.
Shutan Nurseries spans an area of 110,000 square meters.
We produce a wide variety of seedlings of deciduous fruit trees, subtropical trees, grapevines, olive, citrus and ornamental trees, in an array of rootstocks and varieties.
The seedlings are produced on both open space area (bare-foot) and in plastic bags.
Shutan Nurseries consults its clients on the suitability of the root stocks varieties to the climatic conditions of different geographical regions and provides consultancy services for several years after the planting in order be able to produce better quality seedlings.
In Shutan Nurseries we understand that your orchard is the source of your income and therefore we do all in order to ensure large and high quality yield.
We implement quality control policies at all stages from the purchase of plant propagating materials, through all production stages and transportation of the seedlings to our customers as well as professional consultancy services.
Shutan Nurseries purchases only virus-free and non-transgenic (non-GMO) materials which are certificated and supervised by the Plant Protection & Inspection Services.
We sterilize the soil and planting beds in order to prevent contamination as well as testing the leaves and seedlings for cleanness.
Shutan Nurseries operates with a permit and under the supervision of the Plant Protection & Inspection Services (PPIS) of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In addition, Shutan Nurseries is certified by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Institute for Agriculture by Torah.
