Shutan Nurseries congratulates you on the purchase of the seedlings.
To maintain the high quality of the seedlings, be sure to follow the following instructions.*
* These instructions refer to bare root and grow bag seedlings.
1. Before loading the seedlings, please verify the marking according to variety, rootstock and quantity. If you have ordered different seedling varieties, you should divide them into varieties, and separately mark and load each one.
2. When transporting the seedlings, they should be protected from the sun, wind and dryness. It is recommended to use tarpaulin or plastic sheeting. When transporting seedlings in grow bags, you should use a closed, wind protected transport vehicle.
3. To prevent the seedlings from breaking, they must not be crammed or squeezed.
4. The seedlings and their roots should be kept moist at all times, during transport and until they are planted.
5. The seedlings should be unloaded very carefully, so that they will not break. The seedlings should then be watered.
6. Once unloaded and while stored, the seedlings should not be kept exposed to the sun or wind.
7. To prevent errors while planting, retain the labels of the different seedlings and varieties.
8. Do not plant seedlings of poor quality. Keep them aside and notify the planter or supplier immediately.
9. In case the seedlings are buried and not planted, you should cover the roots thoroughly with soil/sand/sawdust and wet them well, in order to prevent air pockets or the drying up of the seedling. Keep the seedlings reasonably moist until their planting. Avoid excess water.
10. You should consult the regional growth instructor regarding the time and method of planting.
